Engineer needs to be slapped too

The slapgate controversy may have blown over with Bhajji being slapped with an 11 match ban but celebrated Columnist Anil Dharker thinks that justice has not been served. In his column in the Times of India , Dharker says that Sreesanth and match referee Farokh Engineer are equally at fault, and should be slapped as well.

In his column titled 'A slap for Sree, Engineer too?', he said, "As far as I am concerned, two more slaps need to be administered, one to Sreesanth and the other to the match referee Farokh Engineer."

Talking about Sreesanth he said, "We didn’t need secret cameras to see Sreesanth snarl like a rabid dog again and again, hurling four letter words at Bhajji."

Critisising Match referee Farokh Engineer for not going into the 'sequence of events', Dharker said, "Authorities in the ample shape of Engineer did not go into the sequence of events at all. All Engineer did was look at the visuals of Bhajji's slap. He did not even do what someone with a little common sense would do and talk to the two umpires."

Speaking to TIMES NOW on his views on the slapgate controversy, Dharker said, "From the moment Harbhajan came to bat, Sreesanth was constantly at him. But the sequence of events was not taken into any consideration. Farokh engineer should have at least spoken to the Umpires."

Saying that Bhajji was rightly paid for 'what he did', Dharker in his fiery column questioned, "Why have Sreesanth and Engineer got away scot free for their crimes for commission and omission?"
